Journey
Even though the keto diet is best done as a whole foods diet, that doesn't mean that there aren't some delicious snack options that will satisfy your cravings and still keep you in ketosis. The Reboot Family takes a trip to Costco and Whole Foods and picks up some new snacks. Monica walks through some of the things we can't live without and pick up every week while we're out shopping.
In Scott's first month of eating a ketogenic diet, he faced a number of challenged. A series of gout attacks, bouts of sickness, and the dreaded keto flu. In the end, the benefits of the keto diet outweighed the disadvantages. His blood pressure is down, his blood glucose went from being pre-diabetic to within the normal range, and he's lost a solid 18 pounds.
I've been pretty strict about being on the keto diet for the last 30 days and I'm absolutely amazed at the results I've seen so far. The keto diet has dramatically impacted my weight, my sleep, my stress, and my overall health in more ways than I can count. I honestly wasn't expecting to see this much progress this soon.
It's been a while. It's time to reboot again. Here's an update on what's happened in the past year and how we're going to change the game moving forward. We're going keto.
After three years in the San Francisco Bay Area, our careers were accelerating at breakneck speed, but we weren't happy, healthy, or wealthy. We decided to take drastic measures to secure a lasting legacy for our family and risked everything to move to Austin, Texas.
One of the high quality problems associated with losing weight is that your clothes don’t fit you anymore. Once company has developed a solution to that problem.
It's not enough to just want to lose weight. You have to be specific about your goals if you're going to achieve them. I personally have my goals mapped out by the DAY. It sounds super tedious, but it's actually really easy and super motivating!
It's only week 2 of the reboot, but I know how this is going to end. Because I've started with the end in mind, I know exactly what my goals are down to the day. That has made me super motivated and has helped me to post my largest weight loss number to date!
One great thing about this weight loss journey is the opportunity it has provided me to teach my son about health and nutrition. Every morning, he helps me prepare my breakfast and even educates me on the benefits of each ingredient. We're using mainly Arbonne products in this video.
Achieving health and wellness goals is about so much more than just eating right and getting exercise. It's about achieving a healthy balance in all areas of life. This weekend, our family took a trip to Maker Faire in the San Francisco Bay Area where we got to see all kinds of awesome creations ranging from fighting robots to fire breathing dragons to 3d printing machines.
It's weigh in Wednesday, and it's my first weight loss update in a long time. In this update, I'll talk about my game plan this time around and show some before
Falling off the wagon is frustrating. But it's time to stop sulking and get back to work. I failed because I stopped posting videos and stopped allowing myself to be held accountable. You guys were a big part of my success and as soon as I lost that, I started sliding down hill again.
Another weigh in Wednesday. In this week's weigh in, I recap my total losses so far and attempt to put things into perspective.
I've been on the Arbonne 30 Day Detox for 2 days and have posted my largest weekly weight loss yet! Find out how much I lost and a little more about the Arbonne program in this weight loss update video.
I'm feeling sick this week :(
Even though I'm feeling a bit under the weather, I was still able to do a reasonably good job sticking to my weight loss objectives and plan.
I'm back from my trip to the Philippines.
I learned a couple of things while I was there.
I recently took a trip to visit my folks and sister in Arizona. It was a great trip and offered some much needed time to decompress.
But when you're trying to lose weight, routine can be your biggest ally and when you're on vacation, all that routine typically goes right out the window.
When you're on a weight loss journey, routine is your friend. Knowing ahead of time when you're going to eat, what you're going to eat, and when you're going to work out simplifies the decision making process and helps to keep you on course.
But inevitably something will come up that will toss your bullet proof routine out the window. For me, that disruptive event was a trip to Arizona to visit my family.
In this weight loss update video, you'll find out how I did in the face of some serious temptation without my trusty routine as my safety net. Also, I share some thoughts what once was one of my favorite restaurants, Fogo de Chao.
Find out how I did in week 4 of my weight loss journey. Also, find out what my wardrobe has to do with my weight loss by watching this video update
Let me start by saying that I apologize for the first ten seconds of this video update.
Apparently I get pretty hyper after I've had my cup of morning coffee.
I've decided to start weighing in on Wednesdays from now on.
In this video, you'll also find out if I was able to breakthrough my multi-day plateau and what I'm planning on doing for the week ahead.
After 3 weeks of consecutive losses, I stepped up my game this week and began tracking food, eliminating carbs, and exercising. My hard work has been rewarded with 3 days of 0 weight loss. I need to regroup and figure out a way to break through this plateau!
I recently did something completely terrifying - I recorded a video asking all of my Facebook friends for their help on my weight loss journey. Nothing could have prepared me for their reaction.
I've tried time and time again to get healthy. And time and time again, I've failed miserably.
If this time is going to be different, I've got to do something differently.
So, I decided to venture out of my comfort zone and record a video for my Facebook friends, asking them to help me along my weight loss journey.
This post is a little bit late, because I lost the original footage that I shot! Find out how I did during the first week of my weight loss journey.
So in a really weird way, I kinda of consider myself a weight loss expert i mean I’ve lost more weight cumulatively than anyone I know and I’ve also fallen off the bandwagon a bunch of times so I know what does not work. So right off the bat there are a couple of things that I am not going to do.
So today what we're going to talk about is how I got fat. On the surface the answer to that question is actually pretty simple. I ate really bad food in massive quantities over a long period of time with very little exercise. I think that more interesting than the question of how I got here is why did I do those things, and the answer to that question if a lot more nuanced.
I woke up this morning.
I opened my eyes, took a deep breath, and felt for my pulse just to confirm it to myself.
Yep. I’m up. I made it through another night.
Women often have very different experiences on the keto diet. Everything from biology to psychology can play a role and impact our experience living out a low carb lifestyle.
