Week 10 Weight Loss Update

May 14, 2015 by Scott Arrieta in Weight Loss Updates, Journey

I'm finally feeling like I'm getting over that nasty cold I had in the last couple of posts.

Spirits are high and I'm ready to crush this weight loss journey!

This week was my first full week on the Arbonne detox challenge. I can tell you that I was super skeptical at first, but after just a week of following the program, I feel... better, smarter, and in general just more optimistic.

I definitely feel like I have more energy. My mind doesn't feel as foggy — I feel like I actually have more clarity and can think faster. And of course the net effect of these things is I just feel better in general.

I'm starting to get a better feel for the Arbonne products I'm using. There's a vegan protein powder that I'm really enjoying. I throw a bunch of stuff in my morning protein shake — a greens supplement, some probiotics, and a fiber supplement. I've tried fiber before, but it's always made my stomach feel gurgly and didn't have the desired impact on my :ahem: bowel movements. Don't want to gross anyone out, but let's just say things weren't as... cohesive ... as they were supposed to be.

The Arbonne fiber supplement is not wheat dextrin based, which is better ... for some reason. Look, I don't understand the science behind it, but everything works the way it's supposed to now, so let's just leave it at that.

From a weight loss perspective, I lost another 2.2 pounds this week! That's on top of a personal best of 4 pounds lost last week!

I'm now down to 357.6 pounds. That's a total loss of 26.8 pounds - roughly the equivalent of two average sized Thanksgiving turkeys.

That's a silly illustration, but I keep envisioning just dropping two Thanksgiving turkeys on the ground, and that's essentially the weight that is no longer hanging on my frame. Posting these updates every week, it's easy to start taking things for granted because you're just losing a pound here and there, but looking back at that visual, it definitely feels like I've accomplished something more significant.

Excited to see how the rest of this detox goes!
