Week 7 Weight Loss Update and What I Learned in the Phillipines

April 28, 2015 by Scott Arrieta in Weight Loss Updates, Journey

I'm back from my trip to the Philippines.

I learned a couple of things while I was there.

  1. If you don't know someone's name, it's fine. Everyone responds to "pssst."
  2. In general, we Filipinos are decent at math. However, math when it comes to food is not so good. Ask for one extra egg and they'll give you two. Ask for a single pastry, they'll send you home with two dozen. Ask for an extra slice of bacon and they'll slaughter a brand new pig to bring you a whole plate full of bacon. I'm beginning to see why I have weight issues...
  3. Distance is measured in time.
  4. Add 50% to any time estimate for the real amount of time required to get somewhere.
  5. If a Filipino is making a weird gesture at you with their lips, they're not hitting on you. Probably. More than likely, they're gesturing to something with their lips.

Anyway, the Philippines was beautiful, the people were amazing, and it was a great trip.

As you recall from my last video, I was super nervous about this trip considering how my last vacation turned out. I was barely able to post a loss after throwing my daily routine out the window.

My week in the Philippines was definitely anything but routine, but at the end of the week I was able to post a loss of two pounds!

I'm super excited because that's the biggest loss I've posted in a while.

My current weight is 365.8 pounds, which is a total loss of 18.6 pounds since the start of this journey.

Till next week.
