Keto Chocolate Chip Cookies

July 09, 2018 by Monica Arrieta in Recipes

I don't know about you, but when I was a kid, my absolute favorite kind of cookie was of the chewy chocolate chip variety. There was something so comforting and luxurious about them. As I grew up, opened up my horizons a bit to cookies of all shapes and sizes. In my travels, I experienced the mouth watering deliciousness of chocolate chip cookies kissed with sea salt (thanks to Chelsea's Kitchen, my favorite restaurant of all time), and decided to bring together these two elements to make the ultimate keto chocolate chip cookie.

Keto Finds at Trader Joe's

July 07, 2018 by Monica Arrieta in Grocery Hauls

Since we moved to Austin, we don't make it to Trader Joe's as often as we used to. Between Whole Foods, Costco, H-mart and HEB (our amazing local grocery store) we've got most of our keto needs covered. If you're on the keto diet and have a sweet tooth (or children) then you'll definitely want to give this lemon blueberry pound cake a try.

A Full Day of Eating Keto: Father and Son Edition

July 04, 2018 by Scott Arrieta in Family, Grocery Hauls, What We Eat

I had been passively aware of the keto diet for years before I decided to take the plunge and try it for myself. Besides the cognitive dissonance of challenging literally everything I believed to be true about nutrition at the time, I found it a little overwhelming trying to figure out what was allowed and what was off limits on the keto diet. I knew that meat was generally ok, but I was skeptical of whether or not I would be ok with ditching the carb-loaded sides that I had grown accustomed to.
